I'm elated for the Iraqi people that they got to vote. I hope it turns out well. But it doesn't change the fact that they're living under Occupation. Are we beginning to think of Iraq as a suburb of America? Is it really that we're so altruistic that we just got to share our freedom with this poor oppressed country? Can terrorism force us into an altruism as Bush suggested in his Inaugural speech? That's absurd. Remember? "We don't bargain with terrorists." But we will free oppressed peoples everywhere when our freedom is threatened. Wait a minute. Are we fighting terror or making the world free? Both at the same time? Try whatever argument works.
